I'm glad to have met Dr. Loong since 2015, and I’ve attended her workshops six times. The first few workshops really deepened my understanding of early childhood education. I initially applied her
materials very sparingly, as I was still exploring and figuring out the steps to teach effectively.
Gradually, I began incorporating more of the materials I learned in her workshops into my routine with my 3-6yo. Later, I attended the first introduction to 母语与音乐. When I first received the
materials, I was unsure and wondered if I could successfully teach reading to my 4yo. However, in 2024, I finally started my 母语 class for my kindergarten students. With Dr. Loong’s ongoing support, I
was able to navigate challenges like working with slow learners and students with special needs. Dr. Loong’s guidance, instructional videos, and detailed material instructions have been
invaluable.
Now, my 4yo are even able to read 孔融, which I hadn’t expected! Their hard work has paid off as they are now steady with inner pulse, rhythm application, word recognition, and more. The parents in
this class have given positive feedback as well, noting that their children are progressing smoothly, not just with the 母语 book but also with their school lessons. They’ve thanked me for the
effective syllabus, and I am grateful to Dr. Loong for providing this opportunity.
We’re now on the first song of the second book, and with the foundational support from the first book, the children are progressing well. Loving it!

I’ve learned about using Chinese rhymes as a fun introduction to introduction intonations, and indirectly engaging to rhythms like long sound short sound. I’ve never knew music learning could be so
creative and applicable in such interesting ways.

The IRAMA workshop offers significant benefits for music educators, particularly in areas such as Music & Movement, Spice Up Phonics, and 母语与音乐. The materials provided are highly engaging,
relevant, and tailored to meet the needs of early childhood education today, including support for children with special learning needs.

The IRAMA Workshop was thoughtfully structured, with pre- and post-workshop Zoom sessions offering valuable opportunities to prepare and reflect on the training. The in-person sessions in Ipoh were
highly engaging, providing ample interaction and hands-on practice. It was an excellent experience for professional growth, combining theoretical insights with practical tools to enhance teaching
practices. I highly recommend it to educators focusing on music education for young children.
